Phase 2: 99 problems but a…

November 18, 2010

finding a comfort zone in the great unknown is comforting beyond words.

i am sitting in what has become “my seat” in a coffee place, plugged in to hip-hop and music that will drown out the chatter, feeling neither bitter nor lost nor inebriated. this moment of clarity is a rarity in itself.

it may be abit premature, but i seem to have reached a new phase in this rewritten roadmap my life has become. premature, i can’t stress this word enough, but life moves fast for me, and it seems it will only move faster in the coming weeks.

mini-trips, many drinks, weddings and departures.

india: calcutta, dehli, dharamsala. in the blur of it all, i will see a world wonder, one of my closest friends get married (again!), christmas amongst hindus, the dalai lama (fingers crossed!), the end of a ___ year and the beginning of a new one.

i’m not ready to account for my customary bullet point list of achievements/reflections for 2010 but i’d like to list out a couple of things i’d like to see in phase 2:

1. write more.
2. sing more.
3. spoil joel more, he’s going past middle age and it’s been a tough year for him too…
4. compile, sort, arrange, organise, recycle, discard where appropriate.
5. bring out the best in loved ones.

some of the things i’d like to bring forward from phase 1 into phase 2 include:

- continue meeting and befriending interesting positive “real” people
- continue getting out of my comfort zone every opportunity i get
- continue being more independent; emotionally, socially etc.
- continue sharing; thoughts, music, love, ideas, information
